This model kit recreates the classic 1980s Honda Prelude. The model kit was originally released in 1983. The re-issue comes with updated decals, instruction manual and packaging.
About the Prelude
November 1978 saw the debut of the Honda Prelude, a car which was in fact Hondas first two-door model since the 1300 coupe had been released some eight years earlier. Inheriting a front engine, front-wheel drive (FF) setup, the second-generation model was released in November 1982. It further enhanced the Preludes trademark comfort and drivability; the first anti-lock braking system (ABS) on a Japanese car used ventilated disc brakes on all four wheels. The engine was upgraded to a 1,829cc inline-4 SOHC unit featuring Hondas proprietary branched conduit torch system that employed a 3-valve layout for higher compression. Its low-profile hood, retractable headlights on the nose and flush surface body contributed significantly to the Preludes low drag and aerodynamics.
